Design Parade Toulon x Vilebrequin 2019

For the fourth edition of Design Parade Toulon (27th-30th June 2019), an interior design festival, Vilebrequin reasserted its support of young creators and its Mediterranean heritage. We spoke to some of the young designers that took part in the competition.

VBQ: Can you describe to us your living room project?

Our room is based on Roman living/dining rooms where one would eat lying down. Strongly inspired by the Mediterranean art of living, our relationship with space is influenced by our childhood memories as we are both originally from Marseilles. Our vision of the south of France is first and foremost based on the intensity of the light and the colours that it reveals as well as the distinct aromas of flowers and cooking. Yellow, citronella-scented straps against mosquitoes, a shelf that might have almost melted under the weight of the mirror. The columns of Ravel pots are a direct reference to Roman columns, as are the Italian fruit-shaped ceramics. With this space, we wanted to create an oasis, a refreshing and relaxing space.
