Created by producers Marie-France Brière and Dominique Besnéhard, the Festival du Film Francophone d’Angoulême celebrates the vibrancy of French-speaking cinema. Each year, ten standout films compete for the coveted Valois d’Or awards, shining a light on the diversity and creativity of the francophone world.
This year’s 18th edition took place from August 25 to 30, with Québec as the guest of honor. Continuing its commitment to creativity and emerging talent—already seen at the Cannes Film Festival—Vilebrequin joined the Angoulême celebration for the very first time as an official partner,
supporting the crème de la crème of French cinema.
Vilebrequin shone throughout the event as an official partner of the Angoulême Film Festival, bringing a touch of Riviera charm to the heart of French cinema. The brand hosted an elegant poolside lunch at the Hôtel Saint Gelais, whose terrace was beautifully transformed into a Vilebrequin beach for the occasion.
Roland Herlory and Dominique Besnéhard warmly welcomed a dazzling guest list of actors, directors, producers, and film professionals — including Julie Gayet, Diane Kruger, Michel Field, Abd Al Malik, Benoît Delépine, Arnaud Valois, Nine d’Urso, Daniela Lumbroso, and the young talents of ADAMI.
A shy sun peeked through the clouds, but the atmosphere remained radiant — brightened by the good humor of Angoulême’s firefighters, proudly wearing their Vilebrequin swim shorts. The joyful scene, infused with sunlight, laughter, and a dash of cinematic glamour, was captured and celebrated by the local press.
