To celebrate a tradition now known and admired around the world, Día de Muertos, Vilebrequin draws inspiration from the mythical creatures that, within the imagination of this tradition, guide souls on their journey to the afterlife, transforming marine animals into fantastical beings.

For this creation, Vilebrequin brings its signature colorful spirit and fascination with the marine world into the universe of alebrijes. The result is an imaginative composition in which a pufferfish, an octopus, a hammerhead shark, and a manta ray leave behind their familiar forms to become extraordinary creatures.

Alebrijes are among the most emblematic expressions of Mexican folk art. These imaginative handcrafted figures combine elements from different animals with vibrant colors, intricate shapes, and detailed patterns.
