SAINT-TROPEZ'S FINEST BEACHES

Discover Our top 10 of Saint-Tropez's beaches.

01

PLAGE DES
SALINS

Best for lunch with your feet in the sand. A glass of rosé and a pizza in the evening, on the first floor of the restaurant of the same name, with the owner and his beloved charcoal oven. More down to earth than Pampelonne Beach, but unique, exotic and authentic.

    02

    PLAGE DES
    GRANIES

Hidden in the cove of Les Canebiers, on Graniers Beach, you’ll find a hut restaurant that’s the perfect place to enjoy a barbecue of freshly caught fish. Feast on the finest Mediterranean grilled fish, sardines or crayfish. Dress code: swimwear and Tropéziennes (gladiator) sandals.

    1 plage des Graniers, Saint-Tropez

      03

      PLAGE DE
      SYLVABELLE

Nestled at the bottom of a cliff by the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, with luxuriant, splendid vegetation.

        04

        Club 55®

55 as in 1955, the year it opened. The initial idea: open a stylish boutique on Pampelonne Beach selling essential accessories for beach lovers and swimmers, coupled with a beach hut restaurant offering Mediterranean flavours and gazebos ideal for naps by the sea. In a word: a trip to Saint-Trop’ wouldn’t be complete without stopping by Club 55®. The club’s owner, has since turned towards rustic agriculture at the Château de La Môle, bought in 2015, where he cultivates organic fruits, vegetables and herbs for the restaurant of Club 55®, following the precepts of Pierre Rabhi. He also sells olive oil (in small quantities) and wine. Club 55® is now being run by his daughter.

43 bd Patch, Ramatuelle

          05

A couple of wilder beaches near Capon

          La Pinède, in Gigaro.

La Moutte, the prettiest wild beach in Ain according to journalist and writer Alix Girod. Harder to reach than Les Salins, but with crystalline water and quiet even in the middle of summer.

          06

          CABANE
          BAMBOU

When the owner of this legendary place, passed away last year, his fans were worried, but his daughter quickly took over and made the Cabane evolve. Concrete structures have been replaced with natural materials and solar energy. On the beach, hire a mat to sunbathe or take a yoga lesson. In the sea, try your hand at paddle boarding. And if you get hungry, enjoy chef's market-inspired cooking for lunch or dinner. Highlights include his grilled bass and his superb lobster risotto.

Route de Bonne-Terrasse, Ramatuelle

            07

             Playamigos®

A well-equipped beach with mats and a restaurant inspired by Mediterranean, Greek and Lebanese cuisines. Sharing platters and unusual desserts, such as a Lebanese flan with orange blossom, pistachios and roasted almonds.

Chemin des Tamaris, Ramatuelle

            08

            LA BAIE DES CANOUBIERS

The beach patrol’s pontoon on the Bay of Canoubiers is a great spot for a drink in your swimwear with a view over Saint-Tropez. Order rosé and a pizza from L’Aroma, who deliver directly onto the pier.

              09

              CHARLY'Z BUVETTE

Set up only during the summer on Pampelonne Beach, this beach hut forms an integral part of Tropezian folklore, film sets and series. Depending on the time of day, order a light drink, a margarita, a sharing platter or fritters – more for sharing and conviviality than to fill yourself up.

Route de Tahiti, Ramatuelle

                10

                LA PONCHE

Best for a dip in the middle of the village. This is undoubtedly one of the most authentic neighbourhoods, where the sun casts its final rays on the concrete jetty. Kids love coming here to frolic after school. Only seven Tropezian families still live here. The initiated come here early in the morning for a swim, before the crowds arrive. It’s like being in Marseille or on Gorée, opposite Dakar. And, it was at 4 rue de la Rampe that the most beautiful scenes from Roger Vadim’s And God Created Woman, with Brigitte Bardot, were shot.
